The highest peak on the Island,
and reputedly once the highest peak in the world, at a time when this part
of the world was an active range of super-volcanoes.
Nowadays, Ben More is sufficiently
high enough to give the willing hill walker excellent views of the Island,
its surroundings, and much further afield - without warming the toes.
There are a number of routes up,
but the most easily accessable, and straightforward to climb, starts on
the north side of the mountain, opposite Eorsa, where there is plenty of
room to park on the shore of Loch Na Keal.

The photos
on this site were taken with a variety of simple cameras, and are not
intended to be of artistic value. The site has been put together to
reflect the things I have found most captivating about the Island, and I
hope you find something in it that you can also connect to. If you would
like to use any of the images, please feel free, though I would appreciate
it if you could give this site credit for the image, and if appropriate,
provide a link to us. |
