The Binman

Neil prepares to end the visit to the Barrow by digging out the black plastic bag and making sure that the Barrow is clear of any Binner jetsom.

Bodyless Head

One last glance round before leaving to see if we have left anything reveals Waynes head, left on a shelf at some stage during the evening. And he always said it was Dave who would forget it if it wasn't screwed on.

Sunny West Kennet

A beautiful sunny morning at West Kennet Long Barrow. If the trip hadn't been worthwhile before, it certainly was by now. Barring pissing rain and wind, the morning would usually be a highlight of the trip. The Landscape around Avebury and its environs is breathtaking.

Morning After

Some may think that Neil and James are regretting the use of silly hats the night before, but there is plenty of room in their bags to stow them if they really didn't want to wear them. Being a Binner is a 100% commitment when you are in the field.

Walk Down the Avenue

Originally we would walk back to the Village the way we came; along the A40 and West Kennet Avenue. This Picture shows Wayne, Dave and James in the midsts of the West Kennet Avenue, where it runs parallel with the road.

Silbury Behind

After a few years, having discovered an appropriate pathway, we started returning via the Kennet river, which passed by the base of Silbury Hill and round to the back of the Village, near Avebury Trusloe, and into the main tourist car park. Mick and Wayne are seen here heading out of the car park on pleasure bent for Stones cafe.
